Porter’s Creek has a little something for everyone, including a waterfall (Fern Branch), historical farm (John Messer), a roaring mountain stream ,and of course…wildflowers! This trail boasts some of the Smokey’s highest population of yellow trilliums. This trail is a moderately difficult 4 mile in-and-out trail.
Other wildflower species along Porter’s Creek include: bloodroot, hepatica, white-fringed phacelia, violets, toothwort, wild geranium, foam flower, dwarf ginseng, bluets, and jack-in-the-pulpits. We’ve even encountered a few little-brown-jugs!
