All the food grown here is served in the Soup Kitchen!
A NOTE FROM TERRI:
We have closed down several of our beds for the season. We are still getting
a decent amount of slicer tomatoes, beans, and cowpeas and Mary is distributing these crops to residents in the local community.
Our newest trellis of scarlet runner beans and purple hyacinth beans filled out nicely and the
Pollinators have enjoyed them. Please see below picture. Future plans planting fall garlic and tarping the in-ground garden where the squash bed and 3 sisters garden is
planted.

Twenty seven middle-school children and their adult leaders from Bethlehem, PA spent the week with Randi installing an alternative-technique vegetable garden behind Tabernacle Presbyterian Church. They utilized wood pallets, straw bales, and tires, as well as a rain gutter grow system to grow a variety of fruits, vegetables and herbs. They also added rain barrels with soaker hoses or float valves to minimize the need to hand water the planters. Using recycled cinder blocks, they built a 3 section compost bin. To top it all off, the kids made bird houses and signs as garden art. Their art complemented the recycled metal tools that were welded together to make "scare crows" for a bird bath and bird feeder.
